Carlos Hank González
Carlos Hank González is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Grupo Financiero Banorte, a role he assumed in 2015. Prior to this, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Financiero Interacciones, the largest specialized financial group in the country, from 2000 to 2014, when the institution merged with Banorte.
Banorte is the second largest financial group in Mexico and is recognized as “Best Bank in Mexico” by the prestigious publications The Banker, World Finance and Latin Finance and as “Leading Company in Corporate Governance in Mexico” and “Leading Company in Sustainability” by prominent international organizations.
As Chairman, Carlos Hank González leads Banorte’s digital transformation, launching the “1,2,3 Plan,” a strategic initiative to make the institution the best financial group in a digital world in the Mexican banking system by 2023.
Carlos Hank González also serves as Chairman of Fundación Banorte, an institution focused on contributing to the development of Mexican families to improve their quality of life through education, housing, health and nutrition.
In addition, in 2012 he assumed the role of Vice Chairman of the Board of Gruma, a world leader in the production of corn flour and tortillas represented in more than 100 countries worldwide, and in 2008, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Hermes, a holding company formed by Hermes Infrastructura, Cerrey, Hermer and other firms.
His efforts and leadership have earned him several awards including the “Board Member of Leading Institution in Responsible Investments” award in both 2016 and 2017 as part of the international initiative ALAS20, from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development of BNAmericas and VigeoEiris. He also was named one of the “300 Most Influential Leaders in Mexico” by Líderes Mexicanos and “The 100 Most Important Businesspersons in Mexico” by the publishing group Expansión.
