Carlos Hank González

Chairman of the Board of Grupo Financiero Banorte, Board Member of Gruma, Board Member of the Mexican Stock Exchange, and Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Hermes.

Born on September 1, 1971 in the State of Mexico.

Since 2015, Carlos Hank González is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Grupo Financiero Banorte. The institution is the second largest financial group in Mexico and is recognized as “Best Bank in Mexico” by the prestigious publications The Banker, World Finance and Latin Finance and as “Leading Company in Corporate Governance in Mexico” and “Leading Company in Sustainability” by prominent international organizations.

Carlos Hank González has set the mission of leading Banorte’s digital transformation, launching the “1,2,3 Plan”, a strategy that aims to make the institution, by 2023, the best financial group in a digital world in the Mexican banking system.

He is Chairman of Fundación Banorte, an institution focused on contributing to the development of Mexican families to improve their quality of life through education, housing, health and nutrition.

In 2016 and 2017, he received the “Board Member of Leading Institution in Responsible Investments” award, as part of the international initiative ALAS20, from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development of BNAmericas and VigeoEiris.

He was recognized as one of the “300 Most Influential Leaders in Mexico” by Líderes Mexicanos, and among “The 100 Most Important Businesspersons in Mexico” by the publishing group Expansión.

In 2012, he became Vice Chairman of the Board of Gruma, world leader in the production of corn flour and tortillas with presence in more than 100 countries.

In 2008, he became Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Hermes, a holding company formed by Hermes Infrastructura, Cerrey, Hermer and other firms with presence in the tourism and transportation sectors. He serves in this role today.

Between 2000 and 2014, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Financiero Interacciones, the largest specialized financial group in the country, today merged with Banorte.

He holds a degree in Business Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana with a specialization in Finance and Stock Exchange Practices. He is married and has three children.
